Donation Drive for Coquitlam Fire Evacuees

CKNW will be broadcasting DrexLive from Coquitlam tonight to get the word out about 100 displaced people in the city after that massive fire last night wiped out 70 apartments at 2915 Glen Drive. CKNW will be at Eagle Ridge United Church – 2813 Glen Drive, broadcasting LIVE from the parking lot from 6pm. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Shrove Tuesday occurs the first Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, usually February 2 or March 9. It officially ends the season of Epiphany and is the vigil for the starting of Lent. Church Elves Spring Clean-up

Everyone’s invited to be a Church Elf for the morning of Saturday, March 14. We will gather for breakfast at the church (pancakes anyone?) and then spend a few hours getting the gardens ready for spring and summer, cleaning up the driveway and grounds, and tackling on several odd jobs that need doing in and around the building. Please come out for some amazing deals on Rhonda’s lia sophia jewellery samples to help raise funds for our Syrian Refugee family.  Items have been reduced to at least 50% off and Rhonda will be donating 50% of all proceeds to the fund.  There will be door prizes as well!  If you have any questions or would like to buy something and can’t make it, please speak with Rhonda about setting up an alternative time to see the jewellery.

Please mark your calendars and plan to come out to help with the upkeep of our church property, inside and out. We truly rely on volunteers (Church Elves) like you, for this work. Outside work will include fall cleanup of the gardens, lawns & parking lot and sod removal on the North side of the building (bring your shovels!). Lenten Challenge Leader Training

Lent starts on February 10th, so we’re gearing up for the Lenten Challenge 2016! An intentional personal and spiritual growth and development challenge centered around going deeper in our relationship with God and with one another. One aspect of the challenge is to engage in a small group for the six weeks of Lent. Come to this training event to learn what you need to know to lead a small group this Lent.

The main focus will be trimming the trees, but we also hope to move out more of the dirt on the north side and clean up the parking lot. Holy Crap Garage Sale

This year, we are working alongside Humanity4Syrians, so the saleable items you donate will benefit both ERUC and H4S. Donations may be brought to the church this Thursday & Friday, 11 am to 4 pm and 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
